Rodborough Common car fire death declared 'non-suspicious'

The death of a man whose body was found in a burning car in Gloucestershire is now being treated as "non-suspicious", police have said.

Officers were called to a Vauxhall Frontera alight on Rodborough Common, Stroud, at 04:55 GMT on Wednesday.

They found the body shortly afterwards and the circumstances of his death were initially treated as "unknown".

Detectives have made contact with the next of kin of the registered owner, a 60-year-old man from Hertfordshire.

The man's body has not yet been formally identified.
