An appeal has been launched to raise money for a new set of twelve bells for a Cheltenham church.

The current bells in Cheltenham Minster, which were last replaced in 1823, are "tonally not good and difficult to ring".

A spokesman said £400,000 was needed to replace them, along with the fittings and mechanisms which are worn out.

Liz Coke, from the church's bell ringers, said: "New bells will make all the difference to us."
