A man has denied stabbing to death his girlfriend and her baby daughter at their Hampshire home.

Stephanie Bellinger, 24, and her 10-month-old daughter Lili were discovered at their home in Totton, near Southampton, on 27 February.

Anthony Marsh, 21, pleaded not guilty to both their murders at Winchester Crown Court.

He was remanded in custody ahead of his trial, which is expected to last for two weeks from 16 November.

Post-mortem tests showed Lili died from a single stab wound.

Her mother, who lived with Mr Marsh and her daughter at the property in Myrtle Avenue, Totton, died from multiple stab wounds.

Ms Bellinger's family paid tribute to her in a statement saying they had been left with a "huge hole" in their lives.

They described her as a "fun-loving, free spirit" and her daughter as "a bouncing, happy little baby who brought joy to our lives".
