A restaurant worker was taken to hospital after he and his colleague were robbed on the way home from work.

They had just left Kuti's in Fair Oak, Eastleigh, Hampshire, in the early hours of Sunday after collecting the evening's takings.

A man approached them in Dean Road and asked for a cigarette before kicking and pushing them and running off with more than £1,000.

Police want to trace two men seen sitting outside the restaurant earlier.

Extra patrols

The attacker is described as aged between 18 and 22, of slim to medium build and wearing a blue hooded top.

One of the staff suffered a cut to his face and was treated at Southampton General Hospital.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at about 0115 BST on Sunday has been urged to contact police.

Hampshire police said extra patrols had been put on in the area.
