Man on crutches

Det Con Ann Keir said: "We believe this was an isolated incident.

"It happened during daylight hours and at a location popular with cyclists, dog-walkers and runners.

"To assist with our inquiries, I would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened."

Det Con Keir urged a man on crutches, who helped give first aid to the stabbed woman, to contact police.
