Hampshire lorry crash motorcyclist named

A motorcyclist who died in a collision in east Hampshire has been named.

Gavin Kwabena Wallis from Gosport died on Thursday when his BMW motorcycle collided with a Mercedes recovery truck near East Meon.

Emergency crews were called to the crash on the A272 Winchester Road at Wellfield Copse at about 1430 GMT.

Hampshire police said Mr Wallis sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. The truck driver, a 40-year-old man from Midhurst, was unharmed.

The A272 was closed in both directions between the A32 junction and the turn for Privett for six hours. Police have appealed for witnesses.
