An elderly couple were tied up by burglars who ransacked their Hampshire home.
The man and woman, both in their 70s, were threatened with a gun by two men at the isolated house in South Hay, near Bordon, on Friday at 2145 GMT.
They left in a car about 35 minutes later with jewellery, a mobile phone, a ladies handbag containing bank cards and other personal items.
Detectives said the couple were shaken but unharmed.
Hampshire Constabulary is warning residents in rural areas to review their home security.
Det Insp Dave Sackman, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are doing everything we can to identify the offenders who targeted this vulnerable couple.
"Police officers are conducting extensive searches at the property and in the immediate vicinity to gather any forensic evidence or clues that will assist us with our investigation."
