Woman remanded in custody on Southampton murder charge

A woman has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with murdering another woman who was found dead in Southampton.

Baljit Kaur Buttar, 56, was discovered in a house Broadlands Road, Portswood, on Friday. She had suffered multiple blows to the head.

Raj Binder Kaur, 35, of Broadlands Road, appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court charged with murder.

She is due to appear before Winchester Crown Court on 2 March.

Ms Kaur was one of four people originally arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 30-year-old man also held on suspicion of murder was released on police bail until 27 April. Two others were released without charge.
