Sixty firefighters have tackled a fire at a thatched cottage in Hampshire.

The fire, which destroyed the ground floor, first floor and thatched roof of the cottage in Upton, near Andover, was brought under control at 0300 GMT.

No-one was thought to have been hurt in the fire, which took firefighters more than six hours to extinguish. Ten fire officers also attended.

Eight fire engines were used along with two water carriers, a specialist vehicle and a special equipment unit.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
