A 30-year-old man has been arrested after money was stolen from a bookmakers in Southampton by a raider who claimed to have a gun.
The robbery happened at Ladbrokes in Butts Road, Bitterne, on Monday.
A man in dark clothing entered the betting shop and threatened staff, pointing an object wrapped in a plastic bag and saying he had a gun.
But the staff never saw a weapon and no shots were fired. The man was held on suspicion of robbery and is in custody.
Staff were left shaken but unhurt by the incident, police said.
