Hampshire Army Cadet leader Brian Court jailed for indecent assault

A former leader of Hampshire's Army Cadets has been found guilty of three charges of indecent assault and jailed for four years.

Brian Court, 44, formerly of Andover, was accused of four counts of indecently assaulting three cadets during the early 1990s.

The jury heard Court gave alcohol to the boys before abusing them.

He was found not guilty of the fourth charge and jailed for four years at Southampton Crown Court.

Court was investigated after one former cadet, Darren Lawson, told police he had been abused.

Two other former cadets later made similar allegations.

Out of court, Mr Lawson said: "When I became aware something unnatural was going on it was a very, very scary situation that actually put a cold fear inside me.

"I've had moments when I've felt very strong hatred and I've had moments when I've tried to forgive, but I don't have any sympathy."
