Safer driving course for Isle of Wight motorists
Motorists on the Isle of Wight have been invited to take part in a safer driving course to refresh their skills and improve their confidence.
The council's road safety unit will be running the six-week course, starting on 17 January.
It combines theory and practical exercises to improve driving for people of all ages and levels of experience.
The course covers car control, road positioning and overtaking and includes tips for driving in winter conditions.
Councillor Barry Abraham, cabinet member for fire, culture and residents' services, said: "As a council we are committed to reducing the level of road accidents on the Isle of Wight and this course is one of the ways we are helping drivers to become safer."
A similar course for motorcyclists starts on 15 March 2012.
