Talking Heads pub fire: Asian men could hold key clues

Two men may hold vital clues to an arson attack at a Southampton pub, according to police.

Officers said they want to speak to the two Asian men, aged between 28 and 35.

Descriptions of the pair have been released after photos of the blaze at The Talking Heads on Tuesday night appeared on social networking websites.

The fire is believed to have started after items were stacked against the back of the building before being set alight between 23:05 BST and 23:45 BST.

The Portswood Road pub was empty at the time and was being refurbished as a live music venue.

New owners have been clearing the damage and hope to open for business on 13 April.

The first man is believed to be aged between 33 and 35 and is described as 6ft, heavy build, with receding short black hair. He was wearing thin silver framed glasses, dark clothing and carrying a bag.

The second man, thought to be between 28 and 32-years-old, is 5ft 8ins with short black hair. He was also dressed in dark clothing.

Hampshire Police would like to hear from them or anyone who knows them as part of the investigation.

Anyone who took a picture of the fire or was in the area at the time is also urged to contact them.
