A man has been arrested after four men were stabbed in central Southampton.

Hampshire Police said officers received reports of a number of wounded men at about 23:00 BST on Tuesday.

The men, with arm, hand and abdominal injuries, were found at a pub in Belle Vue Road, a house in Cranbury Avenue and at Royal South Hants Hospital.

A 19-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, a police spokesman said.

Cranbury Avenue was closed while forensic inquiries were carried out.

Three of the men are being treated in hospital.

Officers said there was a possibility that more people were involved and suffered injuries.
