The family of a woman who died in a head-on collision in the New Forest, in Hampshire, have paid tribute to her.

Joyce Frigot, 61, from Christchurch, Dorset, was killed in an accident on the A35 at Holmsley on 17 June.

In a statement, the family said: "Joyce was a lovely friendly lady who was full of fun and loved making cakes for friends and loved ones."

A 52-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been bailed until 30 August.

The family statement added: "[Joyce] was a loving wife to Dennis, mum to Shane, Teresa and Sandra, nan to Matthew, Mary, Dennis, Courtney, Jamie-Lee, Joshua and great grandma to Lily-Rose.

"She was taken too quickly from us and will be sadly missed by all that knew her."

Hampshire Constabulary said a Vauxhall Insignia was overtaking another vehicle when it collided with Mrs Frigot's Vauxhall Astra.

Officers are still trying to trace the driver of a mid-to-light blue Volvo estate who may have seen the vehicles involved.

Mrs Frigot's funeral takes place at Bournemouth Crematorium on Tuesday.
