Armed robbers injure cashier at Gosport petrol station

Armed robbers have threatened and injured a woman working at a Hampshire petrol station.

Two men used a handgun and a knife to force the cashier to hand over cash at the BP garage on Brockhurst Road in Gosport on Thursday night.

The woman was on her own and there were no customers at the petrol station at the time. No shots were fired but the woman was hurt in the scuffle.

The men fled with an unknown quantity of money, police said.

Det Insp Tina Lowe said: "The woman working by herself received minor injuries and is recovering at home.

"She obviously remains upset and shaken by the actions of the robbers towards her."

One of the robbers wore black trousers, a jacket with a grey hooded top underneath and light coloured trainers.

The other one had a dark-coloured hooded top with white piping on the front and back, down the sides and sleeves, and dark tracksuit bottoms and light coloured trainers.
