Gosport police drug search after David Sharland death

Police have been searching for drug paraphernalia around the address where a Hampshire man was found dead.

The body of David Sharland, 48, was found at an address on Williams Close in Gosport on Saturday.

Two men, aged 40 and 43, from Gosport, were arrested in connection with his death and have been released on bail until December 20.

Police believe they had all been taking drugs together.

"Police are aware of rumours suggesting officers have been searching for a weapon in relation to the death," a Hampshire police spokesman said.

"These rumours are not correct. Officers have been examining the area, including nearby waste bins, for any evidence of drug use."
