A Taser has been used after reports a man armed with a knife was making threats to kill on the Isle of Wight.

Officers were called to a house in North Road in Shanklin just before 20:00 GMT on Sunday evening.

Police used the stun gun to arrest a 37-year-old local man who was refusing to leave the address.

He was held on suspicion of a breach of the peace and remains in custody. A number of roads were closed in the area while police dealt with the incident.
