A soldier who died when his motorbike crashed in Hampshire was "doing the thing he loved most", his family has said.

Thomas Reeves was riding his Honda bike on the A30 near Stockbridge on Friday when he collided with a truck.

The married 24-year-old from Winterbourne Gunner, Wiltshire was pronounced dead at the scene.

A family statement said he was "highly regarded in the job he dedicated his life to in the army".

"He will always be in our hearts and sadly missed by many.

"He unfortunately passed away doing the thing he loved most on the bike he loved most, his 'blade' also known as 'lady'," the statement continued.

Thomas Reeves was one of six bikers to die in the county in the last week. Extra police patrols were out over the weekend in an attempt to improve safety.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses to the crash.
