Motorcyclist dies in M27 collision near Southampton

A lorry driver has been arrested after a motorcyclist died in a collision on the M27 motorway near Southampton.

The motorcyclist in his 40s died at the scene after the crash at junction five at about 06:40 BST.

Police said a truck driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop.

There were long delays while the westbound carriageway was closed for police investigation work. The motorway has since re-opened.
