Woman attacked in face with acid on Isle of Wight
A woman suffered "life-changing" facial injuries when she was attacked with acid, police said.
It happened in a street in Sandown on the Isle of Wight in the early hours, Hampshire police said.
A 48-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and a 24-year-old on suspicion of assisting an offender. They both remain in custody.
The injured woman, 22, has been transferred to a specialist burns unit.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said her injuries had been caused by "a corrosive liquid" and were "life-changing".
