Isle of Wight site worker death: No police charges
No manslaughter prosecution will be brought over the death of a worker who was seriously injured at a demolition site, Hampshire police have said.
David Shayler, 53, died in hospital after the incident in Atkinson Drive, Newport, in October 2016.
Police said prosecutors had decided not to bring charges for corporate manslaughter or general negligence.
The Health and Safety Executive said it was still considering possible charges under safety legislation.
Mr Shayler, of High Street, Ryde, was injured on 13 October 2016 and died at Southampton General Hospital six days later.
