Man hurt in suspected petrol can fire in Evesham

A man suffered serious burns after it is believed a petrol can caught fire.

Ambulance crews were called to Blayneys Lane, near a campsite, in Evesham, Worcestershire, on Friday afternoon.

"Crews arrived to find a man, believed to be in his 20s, who had suffered 15% burns to his arms, back and hands," a service spokesman said.

The man's wounds were dressed with cooling pads and he was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Centre in Birmingham, which is the region's burns centre.
