Fourth arrest over Hereford knife attack

A fourth man is being held following a knife attack outside a nightclub in Herefordshire.

A man in his 20s was stabbed in Offa Street, Hereford, close to Manhattan's nightclub, early on Saturday. He is critically ill in hospital.

Three men, aged 20, 26 and 28, were arrested during Saturday and Sunday and officers have until Wednesday morning to release or charge them.

A fourth man, aged 22, was arrested on Monday.

Det Supt Sheila Thornes, of West Mercia Police, said police and the victim's family wanted to thank people who gave first aid when they found him collapsed outside the nightclub.

Police would also like to speak to a taxi driver who was in St Peter's Square at the time of the incident.
