Part of a footpath near a river in Worcester has been cordoned off after a large icicle formed.

It grew under a railway viaduct between the Sabrina footbridge and the main road bridge over the River Severn in the city.

Part of Le Vésinet Promenade is out of bounds to those on foot.

A Network Rail spokesperson said the icicle was hanging from a viaduct it owned and the matter was "currently being dealt with".

She said: "Our engineers will be on site to inspect and carry out any necessary repairs."

Le Vésinet Promenade is a footpath which goes between the city centre and the University of Worcester.
