Man assaulted tackling flytipper in lay-by

A man was assaulted after he confronted another man dumping rubbish in a ditch.

The victim, a man in his 60s, was driving along the A448 in Chaddesley Corbett, Worcestershire when he saw the man dumping the rubbish in lay-by.

He stopped and questioned the man, who became aggressive, police said.

As the motorist went to write down the his numberplate, the man grabbed him by the arms and tried to drag him to the floor before pushing him into the road and driving off.

Police are appealing for information to the incident, which happened just after 0900 GMT on Friday.

The victim was not injured, the spokesman added.
