400 tractor tyres dumped in Herefordshire village

Fly-tippers in Herefordshire have left one of the largest amounts of tipped waste the council has had to deal with, a spokesman said.

Four-hundred rear tractor tyres were dumped on roads in Letton at some point during Friday night.

The tyres were cleared up after a member of the public rang the council.

Craig Sandman, the council's community protection team leader, said it was likely two large lorries would have been used to dump that amount of tyres.

"This is one of the largest amounts of tipped waste we have had to deal with and we are exploring all avenues to find the culprits," he said.
