Call to do more to honour troops

People and businesses could think more about what to do to honour the country's servicemen and women, the Prime Minister has said.

He was responding to Bromsgrove's MP Sajid Javid who said the people of Bromsgrove had granted the freedom of the district to the Mercian Regiment.

"The people of Bromsgrove are immensely proud of the regiment," Mr Javid said.

Mr Cameron backed the move and said everyone had a responsibility to recognise the bravery of the troops.

"I think there is a broader responsibility, which is on businesses, on the media, on us as individuals, on the whole country to work out what more can we do to recognise the bravery of these people who do so much on our behalf," he said.
