Car and motorbike hit pedestrian in Herefordshire

A man has been airlifted to hospital after he was hit by a car and a motorbike in Herefordshire.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called at about 1155 BST to the A438, in Bridge Sollers.

She said the man, who is believed to be in his 60s, was treated at the scene for a "significant head injury".

He was given an anaesthetic before being airlifted to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, she added.

"The motorcyclist, a man believed to be in his 50s, was treated at the scene for minor injuries but did not require any further hospital treatment," the spokeswoman said.
