Worcestershire boy airlifted to hospital after cycle crash

A 12-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured in a cycling accident in Worcestershire.

The crash happened at Manor Avenue South, Kidderminster, at 1620 BST on Wednesday.

The boy is believed to have fallen from the bike. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

He was airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital where he is being treated for a serious head injury.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "Due to the nature of his injury the doctors decided to anaesthetise him to stabilise his condition."
