Man arrested after Hereford stabbing in Friars Street
A man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 30-year-old in Hereford city centre last week.
West Mercia Police said the attack happened in Friars Street on Wednesday 21 December, some time between 22:15 GMT and 22:45 GMT.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his stomach, but is now in a stable condition.
A local man in his 40s was arrested in Hereford on Thursday night and remains in police custody.
Det Insp Martyn Barnes, who is leading the investigation, said: "I want to reassure the public that my team has been working hard over the Christmas period to find whoever was responsible.
"We are making progress, but I want to repeat my appeal for help from local residents."
