Herefordshire Council trials live webcast

Planning decisions made at a Herefordshire Council meeting will be shown live on a webcast in a first for the authority.

The planning committee debate on 1 February will be shown as the council carries out a trial run.

The council said the idea was to make meetings more accessible to people.

John Jones, electoral services manager, said they would then look at feedback to see whether to extend the webcasts to other public meetings.

"We are trialling it at one of our planning meetings because a lot of members of the public already attend these and the webcast will mean they don't have to travel to Hereford but can instead watch proceedings from the comfort of their own homes," he added.
