Mum and son die in Lucton tractor crash
A mother and son died in a collision between a tractor and a car that left two other children badly injured, say police.
The incident happened at 10:10 GMT, on the B4362 outside Lucton School, near Leominster, on Tuesday.
One son, a front seat passenger, died at the scene and his mother on the way to hospital. The two other boys remain in Birmingham Children's Hospital.
The family is believed to be from the Dyfed-Powys police force area.
Insp Damian Sowrey, of West Mercia Police, appealed to anyone who witnessed "the tragedy" to contact Hereford police station.
"We are continuing to investigate the circumstances and particularly want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw either vehicle being driven immediately beforehand," he said.
One of the boys is described as critical but stable and the other is in a stable condition.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said it took around two hours to free the woman from the wreckage of her Corsa, at the scene between Yarpole and Mortimer's Cross.
Inquests into the two deaths are likely to be opened and adjourned on Friday.
