St Richard's Hospice to benefit from Worcester marathon

Plans for the first marathon in Worcester have been announced.

The event, on 15 April, will raise money for Worcestershire's St Richard's Hospice.

The route will start and finish at Worcester Warriors Rugby Club at Sixways and head eastwards from the city.

The hospice, which supports 2,200 patients and family members, said it wants to raise £5.4m to continue offering free specialist care.

Organisers said half marathon runners will complete one loop and full marathon runners will complete a second loop.
