Ledbury: Heritage centre volunteers wanted to help

Volunteers are wanted to help run a local history museum in a Herefordshire town.

Ledbury Heritage Centre is run by Herefordshire Council which is making the appeal for people to help out.

The council said opportunities included "front-of-house" roles such as talking to visitors or working in the centre's shop.

It said training and the chance to "shadow" existing volunteers would be provided at the centre in Church Lane.

Alexia Clark, Herefordshire Council's visitor services officer, said visitors to the heritage centre "always comment favourably on the town".

"Those volunteers who welcome them are valued ambassadors for this wonderful town and we would love to have more on board," she added.

The centre opens from the beginning of April until the end of October each year.
