M5 in Worcester reopens after stray bull causes closure

Part of the M5 motorway in Worcestershire has reopened after an escaped bull led to its closure.

The animal was reported to have wandered on to the A4440 Grange Way in Worcester, between the B4636 and Dugdale Drive junctions.

West Mercia Police said the motorway was closed in both directions between junctions six and seven as a safety precaution.

Police said the bull, which had escaped from the cattle market, had to be shot.

A spokeswoman said it had not actually strayed onto the motorway.
