Burglary charge after dog lost eye during Stoke Prior break-in

A man has been charged with a burglary in Worcestershire in which a dog was injured, police said.

The dog lost an eye in the village of Stoke Prior during the break-in on 2 September while the owner, an elderly woman, was out.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with burglary and stealing a purse and cash worth a total of £225.

He was released on police bail to appear at Redditch Magistrates Court on 16 October.
