A49 near Brimstone closed as lorry hits barn

A major road in Herefordshire has been shut after a lorry hit a barn, shedding its cargo.

Crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire Service were called to help with the crash, at Park Farm, off the A49, near Brimstone, shortly after 14:40 GMT.

Fire service officials said the HGV was loaded with plastic containers, which fell from the lorry causing the road to be blocked.

No-one was thought to have been injured in the incident.

Fire service group commander Rob Ball said there had been "significant damage" to part of the barn and "much of the lorry's cargo ended up in the road".

The road was expected to be closed for several hours after the crash.
