Worcester bin and skip fires investigated

Police are investigating a series of bin and skip fires in Worcester that are believed to be linked.

Eight were started in the early hours of Saturday, West Mercia Police said.

A skip in Langdale Drive, two bins in Kentmere Close, two bins in Fairfield Close and a bin in Wigton Place were all set alight in the Warndon area.

A wheelie bin fire in Ronkswood has been linked to the incidents in Warndon. No-one was hurt and police have appealed for witnesses.

Another skip outside a pub on Ambleside Drive is also being investigated.

All the fires were started between 03:25 and 5:00 BST, police said.

Sgt Helen Wain said: "Thankfully, none of the fires caused any serious damage. Many of the fires were started close to residences and could have had some major consequences."
