A lorry driver died when his HGV overturned and caught fire in a crash which shut part of a motorway for several hours.

The link road from the M42 southbound to the M5 southbound at M5 J4a near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, re-opened in the early hours.

Congestion in the area was "considerable", police said.

The crash took place shortly before 11:50 GMT on Friday with the fire sending a plume of smoke into the air.
