  • Published

A man posing as a police officer stole money from an 84-year-old man in East Yorkshire.

The suspect went to the man's property on Sweyne Garth in Goole on Sunday at about 1600 GMT.

He said there had been localised thefts and needed to check his bank notes to ensure they had not been stolen.

The man took money from a drawer which the suspect grabbed before fleeing. He is described as white, slim and about 30 years old with short, dark hair.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the police.
