Man, 85, arrested over Hornsea care home death

A man has been arrested following the death of a 75-year-old woman at a care home in East Yorkshire.

Police were called to Aarondale House residential home in Eastgate, Hornsea, at about 2100 BST last Tuesday following Dorothy Marshall's death.

Care staff alerted the police to her death after becoming concerned about the circumstances surrounding it.

An 85-year-old Hornsea man was arrested in connection with the death and has been released on police bail.

Humberside Police said a post-mortem had proved inconclusive as to the cause of Ms Marshall's death and they were awaiting the results of a toxicology test.

The police are investigating the death in conjunction with East Riding of Yorkshire Social Services.
