Charges after 'stolen car' crash in Scunthorpe
Two teenagers have been charged after a crash in Scunthorpe involving two cars which had been reported stolen.
Officers were following a BMW and a Volkswagen Golf, which had both been reported stolen, when the BMW crashed on the A18 on Thursday.
Humberside Police said the boys, aged 16 and 17, had been charged with a number of driving offences including theft of a motor vehicle.
Two girls travelling in the BMW have been arrested and bailed, police added.
One of the girls, a 17-year-old, remains in hospital having being taken there with a suspected broken pelvis and fractured leg.
Police said the 16-year-old boy from Epworth had been charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, driving not in accordance with licence and driving without insurance.
The 17-year-old from Scunthorpe has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, travelling in a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, driving not in accordance with licence and use of a vehicle without insurance.
Both are due to appear at North Lincolnshire Youth Court on 12 May.
