Local enterprise partnership plan for Humber region

Plans for a Humber wide local enterprise partnership (LEP) have been submitted to the government.

East Riding, Hull, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire councils presented the plans to Minister for Communities and Local Government, Greg Clark, on Friday.

Ports and logistics, petro chemicals and renewables are the industry sectors the LEP will focus on.

LEPs are partnerships between local authorities and businesses.

They have been designed to determine local economic policies and promote growth.

President of the Hull and Humber chamber of Commerce, Howard O'Neill, said: "We are pleased we now have an agreement for a strong, business-led Humber LEP.

"This partnership will be at the forefront of driving our economic growth for years to come."
