A1079 crash: 91-year-old dies, lorry driver arrested

A lorry driver has been arrested after a 91-year-old man died in a three-vehicle crash in East Yorkshire.

The man who died was a passenger in a Ford Ka involved in a collision with a waste skip lorry and a Skoda on the A1079 near Bishop Burton on Wednesday.

He was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.

The 48-year-old lorry driver, from Beverley, was released on police bail after being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The stretch of road where the crash happened, near Killingwoldgraves roundabout, was closed for seven hours to allow police to carry out accident investigation work.
