Police are asking the public to help search for a 77-year-old woman who went missing nearly a week ago.

Marlene Wagstaff, who has Alzheimer's, was last seen leaving her home in Withernsea Road, Withernsea, East Yorkshire on Friday.

Humberside Police said a search team had been set up which included the force's helicopter, police divers and officers searching on foot.

Police are appealing for volunteers to assist them.

Sgt Dave Jenkins, from Withernsea Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We know that Mrs Wagstaff is a keen walker and therefore we are appealing for dog walkers, horse riders and residents in the area to be vigilant.

"The area around Withernsea is very rural and we are inviting anyone that has some spare time to come and assist us in this search."

Ms Wagstaff was last seen wearing a yellow-coloured three-quarter-length mackintosh jacket and a blue, flower-print skirt.
