Humberside Police say teenager might have been run over twice

A woman hit by a car in Cleethorpes could have already been injured by another vehicle, according to Humberside Police.

A BMW struck the woman as it left the High Street Car Park at 03:30 GMT on Sunday.

Officers said the 19-year-old woman, who is in a critical condition, might have been hit earlier by another car.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Humberside Police said the driver of the vehicle believed to have been involved in the initial accident had contacted police.

A spokesman said: "A 21-year-old man from the Louth area attended Grimsby police station because he believed he may have been the driver of the car involved in the initial collision.

"He is now helping police with the investigation."
