Cleethorpes RNLI offers estuary safety tips for sailors
Sailors around the Humber estuary are being given safety advice by a team of lifeboat volunteers.
A team from the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) will be offering tips on safety at Meridian Quay in Grimsby over the weekend.
The move comes as RNLI officials said the post-Easter period traditionally marked the start of the leisure boating season.
Cleethorpes RNLI said the Easter period was one of their busiest on record.
Mark Ryder, lifeboat sea safety officer, said: "We would encourage all boat owners to pop along to one of these events.
"RNLI sea safety officers offer lifejacket clinics where we will provide the opportunity for boat owners and crew to inspect their own lifejackets and get advice on their condition and suitability for purpose.
"The advice offered by these highly experienced volunteers is free of charge and entirely impartial, we are not selling anything, the message is all about safety at sea."
