Council investigates 11 staff over allegations of metal thefts

Eleven Hull City Council workers have been suspended pending an investigation into claims that work vehicles were used to steal scrap metal.

Leader of the council Stephen Brady said the incident had left everyone feeling "embarrassed".

"We're very disappointed. Due process has to take place and we await that outcome," added Mr Brady.

Humberside Police said it was not involved in the investigation which was an internal council matter.
