Teenage girl killed in East Yorkshire car crash

A 17-year-old girl was killed and two other girls were injured in a crash in Walkington, East Yorkshire.

A Toyota Aygo, travelling along Newbald Road, was in collision with a Citroen van, Humberside Police said

The Toyota driver, a 17-year-old from Greasbrough, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other 17-year-olds in the Toyota were injured. One was treated for minor injuries and the other has serious, non life-threatening injuries.

Police said the injured girls were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary.

The driver of the van, a 32-year-old man from Walkington, was treated for minor injuries and shock.

Police closed the road for several hours following the crash on Thursday evening.
